Event Description

*SOLD OUT* “Focus on the user and all else will follow.” This is the mantra that leads Google’s core principles and it drives our passion for innovation and excellence in every endeavor. Nobody knows this better than Google’s design team, which puts all of its talent and energy towards making the user experience more usable, useful, and beautiful.

Want to know how they do it? Join several of our top User Experience Leaders for a look behind the scenes of Design at Google. Bring your questions to the Q&A that follows, moderated by Google UX Designer, Anya Kogan.

Jon Wiley, Lead Designer, Google Search

Jon Wiley leads the User Experience team for Google Search, working each day to make the search experience more usable, useful, and beautiful. Since 2006, Jon has had the opportunity to design for nearly every Google product. You see his work every time you look at the Google logo. Prior to Google, Jon designed for Hoover's, managed web communications for Texas Governor Rick Perry, owned a theater, and performed improv and sketch comedy. Jon has starred in viral videos seen by millions, most recently as The Autocompleter on YouTube.

Cordell Ratzlaff, UX Director, Ads and Commerce

Cordell leads a team of artists, scientists, inventors, storytellers, and advocates who work at the intersection of beauty and complexity. Google’s Advertising and Commerce products connect consumers and producers, buyers and sellers, and advertisers and publishers in the biggest marketplace in the world.

Jason Cornwell, Lead Designer, Gmail

As the leader of the Gmail UX team, Jason is constantly working to improve the experience of the hundreds of millions of users of the world's most popular email service.  Jason helps guide Gmail's continued evolution through empathy for users and their stories, deep and data-driven understanding of human behavior, and a healthy disregard for the impossible.

Brynn Evans, UX Designer, Google+

Brynn Evans joined Google+ the day before it launched on June 27th 2011, giving her a unique perspective on how the product has grown and evolved. Since then she's worked on nearly every part of Google+ in some capacity, but has been primarily responsible for the signup, onboarding, and stream experiences. Earlier this year Brynn led the the Google+ desktop redesign, bringing clarity and consistency across platforms and emotional engagement to the product as a whole.

Evelyn Kim, Lead UX Designer, Google Local Search

Born and raised in Southern California, Evelyn Kim is currently the Lead UX designer for Google Local Search in New York. She first joined Google in 2007 and led the visual design and user experience in Google Maps, Google+ Local, and Earth interfaces. Evelyn has also had speaking engagements on design at Google at SXSW and Rhode Island School of Design.
