"Re-Designing the Airline User Experience" (final project presentation) + Q&A
Presented by the Interaction Design Program
Spring 2011 has been the first time CCA offered courses in the field of interaction design and the "Introduction to Design" course filled up within 48 hours of open registration. The course has been populated by a diverse array of students, coming from backgrounds in graphic design, industrial design, fashion, film, animation, and fine arts.
Students have had the opportunity to design BART kiosks, new concepts for the Zeum children's museum, and create user-experiences concepts for fictitious airlines. During the final airlines project, students have worked one on one with design coaches from interaction design companies such as Method, Adaptive Path, Rypple, and start-ups to create inspired projects.
These final-semester projects will be presented in a multimedia, end-of-the-year presentation on May 6. Come out and see for yourself what design innovations and creative manipulations are springing from the minds of the newest members of the Interaction Design Program. Judges will join us from Smart Design, Hot Studio, Google and IDEO to identify the best design using criteria proposed for a new IxDa interaction award.
