IxDA San Francisco

I got asked today by a Visual Designer about books that might help to understand interaction design..I thought I'd share my list and open up the discussion for other recommended reading:

Some basic, how to stuff:

Universal Principles of Design
is a great tome on layout and how people think
Designing Interactions – Bill Moogridge
Designing for Interaction, Dan Safer
Theory

The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman is one of the books I love about the subject of Behavioral Design
Maeda @ Media
Data Flow
Beautiful Evidence, Edward Tufte

Hardcore Gestalt Theory - (the stuff that never made sense to me in Design School but now I use everyday)
Grid Systems in Graphic Design/Raster Systeme Fur Die Visuele Gesta...

Massive Change – Bruce Mau

S, M, L, XL – Bruce Mau with Rem Koolhaus

Design Yourself – Karim Rashid
(this is just a VERY cool book... All designers should have it)
