Holiday wrap-up and a look into 2009
Hello friends and happy holidays!!!
W00t W00t!! We had our IxDA SF High Fidelity Holiday party last Thursday night, and it was absolutely off the hook. We had 3 fantastic bands (My First Earthquake, Nobody From Ipanema, and Invisible Cities), raffle prizes, a stand-up routine by the esteemed Alan Cooper (no one saw that one coming) and an awesome turnout from you, our community! Many thanks to our sponsors (Microsoft, Cooper, Hot Studio and Mule Design) and all who attended to make it a such a special and festive night.
Also many thanks to the IxDA SF team members who had the audacity to even dream up this crazy event. Josh Williams takes the honor of lead instigator and ringmaster for the event, with the help of Aynne Valencia, Lori Chambers, Joshua Kaufman, Skip Allums and Jennifer Ng. Special thanks to Hari Khalsa Simons, our roaming photog for the evening, whose fabulous photo evidence can be seen here:

As this year draws to a close, I wanted to let you all know about the upcoming change in your local IxDA leadership. For the past two years, Kim Lenox and I have put sweat equity into getting the San Francisco chapter on its feet, herding it from a tiny drunken happy hour to a consistently inspiring and well-attended series. We have loved every minute (well, except the MC'ing... we always fought over who had to do that ;-) but now it's time for us to step aside.
I'd like to introduce you to your new local leaders, Josh Williams and Aynne Valencia. They are both seasoned, plugged-in designers, bringing passion and some really crazy ideas to IxDA SF in 2009. No seriously, sharp curves ahead! In the meantime, you can contribute love, support, and your own sweat to IxDA SF here on our new community site. Get involved and make something happen!
