About the Job
As a Product Designer, you’ll be collaborating on the design across multiple touchpoints–web, iOS, Android, and email. We’re always improving our core user experience, but in 2017 we’ll also be creating cool new features and integrating more iOS 10 interactions. All of our design work starts with a deep understanding of our users and our business goals, but it should also look and feel amazing! As such, we want to create a clean design system, delightful interactions, and on-brand visuals. If this is the job for you, you’ll get to work with caring, smart people on a product that changes people’s lives.
Scope of work...
Efficient research (user behavior, pain points, constraints, best practices, etc.)
Quick sketches or design concepts to explore multiple solutions and create alignment
Basic prototypes or user flows to evaluate and communicate designs
Just-right user testing as needed for new concepts or tricky interactions
Nearly pixel-perfect comps aligned with our brand and style guide
Tracking feedback from team members and stakeholders
Contributing to our design team’s knowledge base (personas, experience maps, design principles, best practices, etc.)
Our ideal candidate…
Has at least 2-5 years of experience designing consumer products
Has a portfolio showcasing both responsive web and native mobile app work
Is strong in two core skills and capable in two others (user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, writing, service design, and prototyping)
Empathizes with our users and takes a user-centered approach to design
Understands the importance of grid systems, composition, typography and color
Can design both blue-sky visions and minimal viable product
Displays both grit and scrappiness and appreciates a fast-paced environment
Can work with a variety of tools, including Adobe Illustrator
Is knowledgeable about design trends, Apple’s HIG and Google’s Material Design
Thrives in a collaborative environment: solicits and accepts feedback, adds value to others' work and elevates the quality of the team as a whole
Mid-level (but open to a junior-level person with incredible promise)
Primarily works with the product and engineering teams, but may help out the marketing team
