New book alert - Dan Saffer's Microinteractions: Designing with Details

Hello IxDA SFers,

Because Dan Saffer's talk on microinteractions was a big hit with audiences at Interaction13 in Toronto and our redUX in SF, we thought you'd want to know that his new book Microinteractions: Designing with Details is available now!

The difference between a good product and a great one are its details: the microinteractions that make up the small moments inside and around features. How do you turn mute on? How do you know you have a new email message? How can you change a setting? All these little moments—which are typically not on any feature list and often ignored—can change a product from one that is tolerated to one that’s beloved. This book provides a new way of thinking about designing products: as a series of microinteractions that are essential to bringing personality and delight to applications and devices.

Dan's been a long-time supporter of IxDA, and we want to congratulate him on this major accomplishment. We also want to  encourage our community (that means YOU) to learn more about how microinteractions relate to our work in IxD.
