Job Description

We’re looking for multiple Senior or Principle UX Designers to lead projects and teams for Oracle Cloud Applications. These are the core applications the Fortune 1000 count on to run their companies, used every day by millions of workers world-wide. This includes applications for Human Capital Management, Customer Experience, Finance, Enterprise Resource Planning, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Public Sector, and more. We have multiple positions open for each of these teams and more. Based on fit and interest, you'll be paired with the team that's best for you.

Responsibilities range from the design of features and enhancements as part of incremental product improvement, to completely reimagining our products as part of our ‘Next Generation’ product strategy and vision projects. This roll will also be involved in cross-studio and cross-business initiatives including building and shaping our design and studio culture, creating our processes, selecting tools and techniques, defining the branded look-and-feel of our product UI, and generally making our design agenda a success.

Specifically you will:

    • Work with Product Management and Engineering as partners to define product vision, requirements, and success criteria
    • Identify and get to know your users through interviews and observations. Uncover needs, perceptions, context, thinking, feeling and behaviors that will yield important insights and opportunities to delight.
    • Create user need and experience frameworks, measure and model user behavior, and find areas for improvement.
    • Lead the thinking for how to design for AI, ML, and Automation leveraging technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, chat, voice, AR, web, mobile, and others.
    • Create information architecture, process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups as needed to conceptualize and communicate intended user experiences.
    • Present design work to the user experience design team, product team, executive leadership, and project stakeholders for review and feedback.
    • Collaborate with design technologists to create sophisticated prototypes to bring your designs to life, share them with stakeholders, and test them with users.
    • Work with platform engineering to create design components, patterns, and layouts.
    • Test your solutions with users to get qualitative and quantitative feedback.
    • Develop and deliver detailed user-interface specifications for the final product design.

Here’s the kind of person we’re looking for.

You’re an experienced UX design professional and leader. 8-12 years of experience with a track record of designing, building, and shipping digital software products.

You have Experience with Consumer and Enterprise application design. Ideally you have experience with high polish consumer and/or enterprise applications that have shipped with positive reception and impact with users and customers.

You have mastery of driving a user-centered product design process. This includes leading projects and teams as a creative lead across all phases of the product design process from project definition, to user research, to strategy formulation, opportunity area identification, ideation, prototyping, testing, into final visual design, production, and delivery.

You thrive on working well with others. You make the people around you better. You love to collaborate with designers, user researchers, engineers, product managers, executives, and inspire them to do their best.

You’re a full stack user experience designer. You look at interaction design, visual design and aesthetics, typography, motion, 3D, human factors, and more as tools in the UX designer’s toolkit. You may be better at some than others, but you know how to talk about each and combine them all into an experience that delights.

You get stuff done.

You’re a fantastic storyteller. You know that our products tell our customers a story through the user experience. You won’t rest until that story is a compelling one.

You love rules and you know when to break them. You think systemically because you know that creating a coherent experience requires it. But you know when the system needs to expand to accommodate a user’s varied conceptual models. And you know when to do something completely unique to create an arresting and product-defining moment that makes users ooh and aah.

You don’t already know everything and you love to learn. You’re inspired by helping users solve their problems. You love finding out you’re wrong. You consume large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to constantly refine your assumptions.

And finally, you want to be part of creating dramatic and impactful change at a company that is committed to becoming a light unto others when it comes to user experience design.
