User Experience Designer (UX/IA : All Levels)

Job Description

Organic is seeking User Experience Designers to design compelling interaction methods, develop digital concepts and help implement and evolve multi-platform experiences. You hold deep empathy with your users, can help manage a small team, and understand the user experience design process. You know enough about front-end technologies and code frameworks to be dangerous. You'll drop over-used industry buzzwords with the best of them. You'll possess a bizarre penchant in taking a concept from a detailed design and continuing until the concept is live for users to enjoy. You'll then clamor to take everything down and start it all anew, this time with greater insight.

You will be asked to think on your feet, sketch in front of a room and defend each other’s work. User Experience at Organic is an evolving discipline, and with your input, our process will continue to be written. Strong intra-organizational and client skills are a must; the role of UX advocate and evangelist will be demanded of you in this job. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the authoring of business requirements, transforming them into interactions and develop them into enjoyable, engaging experiences.
  • Research and share knowledge about how users interact with new interfaces, helping the group to understand and drive user experience.
  • Produce design artifacts for project deliverables, such as annotated mock-ups, interactive wireframes, user interface elements, and interaction workflows.
  • Incorporate site analytics and customer feedback and apply them intelligently into iterative design solutions.
  • Work with contract back-end developers to implement site functionality, including troubleshooting and QA.
  • Bring projects from concept to realization — doing everything possible to ensure their success.
  • Hold a certain amount of resentment for anything being sold as the next-gen, cloud-based solution to Social Mobile Local.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of professional web or mobile application design and/or development experience with an emphasis on interaction and user experience design. Contributions to past projects are as important as work experiences. 
  • Bachelors Degree, preferably in Human Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant and related field. From this education, you will know how to design visually as well as write eloquently. 
  • A proven track record showing the ability to work independently and throughout the full lifecycle, from conceptualization to production implementation.
  • Ability to sketch, improvise and entertain your way around an idea.
  • Solid understanding of capabilities across multiple platforms, and the constraints involved in designing for online media.
  • Voracious appetite for all things Web; if it is happening, you already know about it. If it already happened, you read about it in your feed and already retweeted it.
