This year at San Francisco Design Week we are hosting an online portfolio review session with a fantastic line-up of UX Designers and Managers.
It will be an interactive session, where you will get a chance to hear the experts’ feedback on UX portfolios and get insights into what hiring managers are looking for when reviewing designers’ work and hiring for a UX role.
You can participate in the review session without submitting a portfolio. You will greatly benefit from attending the review sessions and hearing feedback about others’ work!

Pablo Stanley, Co-founder at Blush, Staff Designer at Lyft
Pablo Stanley is a designer at Lyft and Blush. Previously cofounder of Carbon Health, and lead designer at InVision. He gives talks and workshops around the world on product design, animation, illustration systems, storytelling, accessibility, behavioral economics, challenges of being a designer, and the art of comics.
Pablo has a YouTube channel called Sketch Together where he shares design tutorials, livestreams, critiques, and other random stuff. He also hosts different podcasts, including one interviewing Latinxs in the tech industry called “Diseño Cha Cha Cha.” He's the doodler behind Avataaars, Humaaans, Open Doodles, Bottts, and Buttsss. And a writer and illustrator of “The Design Team,” a comic series that follows the lives of designers working at a startup.
Marissa Louie, Director of UX Design at Expedia
Marissa Louie is a UX Design Director at Expedia, where she runs a UX design organization covering apps and web that spans 5 offices around the world. She is the Founder and Co-Admin of Designers Guild, a family of Facebook Groups with 20,000+ members in 100+ countries that is dedicated to helping designers level up. Marc Hemeon, Head of Creative and Digital at Kosas
Marc is the Head of Design for Kosas. Marc worked at Facebook AI to lead design around emerging products experiences. Prior to Facebook, he founded Design Inc. to help companies find and work with seasoned designers. Marc has co-founded a number of companies including North Technologies which merged with Hodinkee.com in 2015. Marc was the co-founder of fflick,which YouTube acquired in 2011. Following the acquisition, Marc was part of the team to redesign YouTube in 2011 and again in 2012 leading the site wide redesign.
Previously, Marc led design teams at Oakley and Digg and co-founded a number of companies including TeeFury and Design by Humans (@hemeon).
Melanie Araujo, Founder & Design Coach at Front & Center
Melanie is a San Francisco-based design professional with over a decade of experience designing and shipping end-to-end consumer products and business tools for companies like Facebook, Doctor on Demand, Honor, Shorebox, and Telenav. In 2015, she founded Front & Center, a design coaching program for founders and designers of color.
At Front & Center participants learn to manage their personal brand, product design skills, and portfolio development (melarauj0).
Cara Kleid, Principal UX Designer at Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
Cara is Principal UX Designer at Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, currently focused on building organizational design maturity and leading the user experience of the Gates Foundations’s technology platform.
Prior to the Gates Foundation, Cara worked at MAYA Design as well as startups in Seattle, WA, and in Kampala, Uganda where she lead work to research, design, and launch mobile financial services for the rural poor (@CaraKleid).
Austin Knight, Product Designer at Google

Abi Jones, UX Manager at Google Health
Abi Jones is a UX Manager in Research & Innovation at Google Health. Her team's mission is to improve the availability and accuracy of medical imaging and diagnostics. Prior to joining Health, Abi led design for products across Google, including in Area 120, Google's start-up incubator, Security & Privacy, Fiber, and Search. Her long-term focus is collaborative tools for people using machine-learning systems.
Before joining Google, Abi designed products and services for MySpace, Ferrari, Samsung, and StubHub. Abi holds a M.Ed. in Instructional Design & Development from George Mason University and a B.A. in Art History from Seattle University (@jonesabi).
