Building tools to help the folks “behind the scenes” at NASA takes a deep understanding of their complex worlds. In this talk, I’ll discuss how we used qualitative data to support NASA’s Space Launch System program and how we introduced a new set of stakeholders to user-centered design.

About the speaker
Dave Luetger is a UX designer with SJSU Research Foundation at NASAAmes Research Center. He works on software that supports the International Space Station and human spaceflight. Dave has led engineers to success by applying user-centered methods to the complex problems faced by the agency. He believes in meeting people where they are and listening with empathy. Dave also believes government tools should (and can) be inclusive and easy to use. He holds a Master's degree in human-computer interaction from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's in sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
